Mahatma Phule Vidya Pratishtan’s Shantabai Shivram Pawar College, Ambegaon Pune-46 ,Celebrated National Science Day on Saturday, 28th February 2026 with great enthusiasm to encourage scientific thinking among students. The day commemorates the announcement of the Raman Effect by Sir C.V. Raman in 1928. 

Inauguration: The event began with a special assembly highlighting at 9.00 AM with the importance of science in daily life. The Principal paid floral tributes to Sir C.V. Raman,followed by an Saraswati Poojan then Introductory speech by Prof. Vaishali Patil urging students Know a story behind science day . “Afterwards, Academic Coordinator, Prof. Dr. Amita Jadhav encouraged students regarding science development and careers, followed by a talk on career opportunities from Prof Smita Mahajan (Head of Computer Science Department).

Science Exhibition and Quiz Competition

The college had organized a quiz competition for students to enhance their knowledge regarding science followed by a Science Exhibition Competition,
A major highlight was the Science Exhibition, where students displayed working models and projects, including Electrostatic systems, Microbiological application, Homemade PH Indicator and environmental solutions, Recent AI Technology. A poster-making competition was also organized, focusing on themes like Application of Science in day today Life. “A scientific game, such as the buzzer wire game, was also available for the student’s entertainment. There were 20 participants in total, and they presented their projects very well to Teachers & Students.

Prize Distribution and Vote Of Thanks

The day concluded with the distribution of prizes and certificates to students who created the best projects & Deliver the vote of thanks at 12.00 PM by Prof. Gautami Gaikwad. 

Conclusion
 National Science Day celebration was a resounding success, successfully igniting curiosity and fostering a spirit of innovation among the students.
